“Naked Beyond Skin”, Tang Contemporary Art, Bangkok, 2008
Bangkok is the base of Tang Contemporary Art and the only solo exhibition of “Naked Beyond Skin” series where Xiang Jing couldn’t be present in person. At the important phase of her career in 2008, Xiang Jing’s father passed away - it made her revaluate issues about her life and work. Dying is the opposite side of living and together they form a totality of existence. Xiang Jing’s art is an everlasting process to confirm the validity of existence. Witnessing death in person was a crucial life experience for the artist. From this moment on, the embryo of “Will Things Ever Get Better?” (Xiang Jing’s next series) started to form in the artist’s mind.
