The 9th Beijing Biennale – Special Exhibition The Arts of Life – Contemporary Art by International Female Artists 2022

On January 21st, 2022, “Beijing International Art Biennale Special Exhibition: The Arts of Life – Contemporary Art by International Female Artists”, hosted by the Beijing International Art Biennale Committee, academically supported by CAFA Art Museum and jointly hosted by Shandong Art Museum and Fangyuan Museum of Arts, successfully opens at the National Art Museum of China, Exhibition Space No.6.
The 9th Beijing Biennale is themed, “Light of Life” – a response to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. The Special Exhibition, “The Arts of Life” aims to express the very femininity in works of women artists, where gentleness meets profoundness, subtlety unites with inclusivity. The exhibition has invited participating artists from various countries and cultural backgrounds, who all went through and dedicated to contemporary feminist art practice throughout 4 decades since the 1980s until today. As the humanity mirror of social histories, their works show not only the constructive thinking on body, gender, cultural convention, and moral forces, but the magnificent vision and powerful independence of these authors as well.
The Special Exhibition will tour to Shandong Art Museum from March 8th to April 7th. Opening on the International Women’s Day, this group show is also to celebrate and honor the fantastic accomplishment and contribution made by female artists all around the world.
