May 20th, 2021 – Jointly sponsored by China Arts and Entertainment Group (CAEG) and Evergrande Tourism Group, “The Tides of the Century – 2020 · Ocean Flower Island International Art Exhibition”, opens as the inauguration ceremony exhibition of Ocean Flower Island Museum on Ocean Flower Island, Hainan Province.The Exhibition receives academic support from the Exhibition Academic Committee, with Committee Chairman Fan Di’an, Chairman of the China Artists Association, President of Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) Chairman, and committee members include 10 experts from both China and overseas, and Wang Chunchen, Vice Director of Central Academy of Fine Arts Museum (CAFAM) acts as the Chief Curator. The Exhibition was formed by 5 Sections. Main sections are: The Tides of the Century, The Greek Guest-of-Honor section – thesis, antithesis and synthesis; Unit sections are: An Azure Rendez-vous section – a dialog between 5 oceans, and Oriental Poetics – visual of the poetry and poetry of the visual. A total of 176 works of art by 95 artists from 24 countries include Greece, France, South Korea, Cameroon, the United States, Japan, Thailand, Venezuela, Singapore, Iran, Italy, India, the United Kingdom, Viet Nam, and China. At the crucial time of international efforts fighting Covid-19, the Exhibition is an assembly of art creations from different cultural contexts. With Greece, country of both oriental and western origin as the Guest-of-Honor, the Exhibition will start a dialog of the new time, for the growing economic and trade contact, political mutual trust, and cultural exchange between China and Greece.
