The book with the same title as the exhibition is a collection of essays launched concurrently as the exhibition. The book is composed of two main parts: one part is images of these small-scale works; another part is essays written by the artist specifically for these works. Xiang Jing aptly named them as “I Have Seen Happiness” - according to Xiang Jing, “art can be a perspective for us to see the world and a way to express and also a place to put in our emotion, so we won’t have to become an empty and lonely reservoir, as in a topic such as art, we can find friends to share our emotion with.” She also says, “in our growing path, thanks to art, we can squeeze out enough water at any time, to nourish our hearts.”
In September of the same year, Xiang Jing’s important large-scale solo exhibition will open at Today Art Museum in Beijing, presenting Xiang Jing’s latest new works from 2008 to 2011.
