100 Years of Chinese Art: Opening Exhibition of Long Museum Chongqing celebrates opening of the Museum

On May 26, the third museum under Long Museum opens in Chongqing, Jiangbei District, Guohua Financial Centre. The total size of the venue is more than 10,000 square meters. The main architecture body is divided into three floors and the height is more than 7 meters. The three key focuses will be on Traditional Chinese Art, Revolutionary Art, and Contemporary Art.

Museum Director Wang Wei personally curates the exhibition - 100 Years of Chinese Art (1911-2011), featuring more than one hundred iconic works through 1911 to 2011 from the collection. Through their unique historical value, cultural impact and epoch connotation, these works reflect the practice and exploration by Chinese artists during one hundred years. And they are going to witness the vigor and vitality of the Chinese art in the future. The exhibition is divided into five parts: The Introduction of Western Studies to the East, Psalm of Art, Cultural Revolutionary Art, A New Era and Ensemble.

Xiang Jing is among one of first artists that Wang Wei started collecting and an early work “Surface of the Water” is shown at this exhibition. Xiang Jing is also present at the exhibition opening on May 26.
